Conservation Of Natural Resources


The conservation of the region's natural resources should become a major part of the regional development programme. Soil conservation, the protection of the water catchment areas for reservoirs against development, the restriction of grazing in hilly areas, and ridging and planting programmes should be initiated. Areas which are not suitable for agriculture should be reforested for erosion control and timber production.
